Why BPOS was created

On a pleasant evening on 28th May 2010 in Liverpool, about 25 colleagues gathered to celebrate the Duke Alder memorial lecture given by Prof M Daud Khan at The Royal college of Ophthalmologist annual congress. It was a unique honour for Pakistan which made everybody proud. A need was felt to create a platform which could unite the british ophthalmologists of Pakistani origin. After round table discussion the formal name of BRITSH PAKISTANI OPHTHALMIC SCOIETY was agreed and the idea of creating an Ophthalmic community for doctors of Pakistani origin materialised.

The first formal meeting was planned for September in Birmingham.
